Even Phil and Tiger use a little instruction now and again. Why not you? We offer the Walters Golf Academy, which is headed by Mike Davis. Golf Magazine recognized Mike as one of the “Top 100 Teachers in America. “ In addition to taking instruction from one of the country’s top teachers, taking lessons in Vegas offers several other advantages. Also for many visitors, there may not be time in their short Vegas vacation to get in a full 18 holes and a lesson from a PGA pro is an excellent investment for your game and a way to spend some time outside the casinos. The Walters Golf Academy

The Walters Golf Academy is committed to providing the finest in golf instruction. We use the latest in digital golf video with lessons and provide our students with a VHS tape of the lesson to take home. All our Las Vegas golf instructors participate in extensive training throughout the year to ensure consistent quality. We provide a wide range of golf instruction options from low cost junior clinics to the finest in custom golf schools. Our goal is to exceed our students' expectations.

Instruction Philosophy

• We believe in establishing a strong foundation in the set-up fundamentals of grip, posture, alignment, ball position and balance.
• We work to develop a swing for each student that fits their individual needs and abilities.
• We believe in the use of video to enhance the learning experience.

Video Instruction

Mike Davis, Director of Instruction for the Walters Golf Academy, conducted a research project in 2001 along with the Kinesiology Department from UNLV. The study won an award from the World Scientific congress of Golf and was presented at the international meeting at St. Andrews, Scotland in the summer of 2002. The study showed that use of video in a lesson improved a student's performance significantly compared to traditional instruction. We use the latest in digital video technology and each student will receive a VHS tape of the lesson to take home.

Callaway Club Fitting Center

We are a recognized Callaway Fitting Center. Using the Callaway Launch Monitor, we can identify the proper specifications for each student. Students will hit a variety of clubs and the computer assisted launch monitor will identify the type of club that provides the best launch angle, ball velocity, and spin rate.

Instructors

	Mike Davis, PGA Certified Instructor, Director of Instruction, is recognized as one of the top instructors in the country, being chosen by GOLF Magazine for their prestigious Top 100 Instructor list for 2007-2008. Mike has played on the PGA Tour in the mid-seventies. He has been chosen Instructor of the Year thirteen times by different PGA Chapters and Sections. Mike is also an expert in the field of video instruction, having won an award for his research from the World Scientific Congress of Golf. Mike has written articles for regional and national magazines for the past thirty years including the September 2005 issue of Golf Digest and has several articles in GOLF Magazine during the spring and summer of 2007.
	Ron Bosler, has taught golf for over 34 years. He received a Masters in Education ten years ago, which has helped him greatly as a golf instructor. Ron has instructed in Missouri, Kansas, Arizona, California and, most recently, Hawaii. He has had much success in assisting golfers of all ability levels. His enthusiasm and passion for the game of golf makes learning from Ron very enjoyable.
	Jonathan Wells, PGA Apprentice, has been working in the golf industry for over seventeen years. Most recently, Jonathan worked at the prestigious Waverley Country Club in Portland Oregon. Waverley has been host to several USGA events including the US Junior Boys and US Men’s Amateur. Since moving to Las Vegas, Jonathan has taught students from all over the world. Jonathan is also an excellent player who enjoys competing in local PGA events.
